Should I book Andrew McKenna Photography?
If you're a laid-back couple who prefer a more informal approach to photography and are willing to embrace the flow of the wedding day, even if it means getting a little wet, then absolutely, you should book with us. Some of our best work has come from couples who are not fond of having their picture taken but trust us to capture their special moments. We pride ourselves on our relaxed style and love to interact with guests, family, and friends. We work efficiently and won't keep you away from your festivities for too long. Instead, we encourage you to kick back with a beer or glass of bubbly and enjoy your time together. This is when we excel, making you both look and feel your best. If our approach resonates with you, we would be thrilled to be a part of your special day.
Whats important to you (Andrew) on the day of our wedding?
For me, photography is all about capturing the essence of you, your loved ones, family, and friends in their natural form. Those candid moments of laughter, smiles, and interactions where people are unaware of the camera's presence are often the most cherished and valuable memories in years to come. While I do take group shots and portraits, it's the spontaneous and unplanned moments that often yield my favorite photos. By taking the time to capture your wedding day as it unfolds, we can create some truly magical and unique shots.
I understand that many couples are uncomfortable in front of the camera, which is why I strive to make you feel at ease and relaxed, allowing you to be your authentic selves. It's important to take some time away from everyone and everything and enjoy a short walk around your venue or photo location as a newly married couple, with me tagging along with my camera, of course!
My photography style is natural and relaxed, but I am committed to working hard to ensure that I capture all the significant moments of your special day. So if you're looking for a photographer who can deliver stunning, spontaneous, and heartfelt images, then look no further!
Are you insured?
Yes, Andrew McKenna Photography is fully insured with Public Liability & Professional Indemnity.
Do you require a deposit aka Booking fee?
Yes, a booking fee of £100 is required and will come off the total price. I will require the remainder paid one week before the wedding. The Booking fee is non-refundable.
Can you hold my date?
I work on a first come, first serve basis, your date is not secure until you pay the £100 deposit.
Can we meet you in person?
Yes, depneding on how busy in the season it is, I like to meet all my clients either in person or through a video call if we can’t meet in person.
Where are you based?
I live, work and play in Newcastle, County Down, where the Mountains of Mourne sweep down to the sea.
Can we cancel our booking?
Yes you can, however the deposit of £100 is non-refundable after 14 days, any further money paid will be fully refunded depending on contractual details.
How long do you stay?
Thats entirely up to you, on a full days coverage we are there from the getting ready in the morning until you have your meal or start dancing.
Do we have to feed you?
Only on the Full Day Package! On a full days coverage Matt and myself work a long day and we are both foodies, We skip lunch so that we can capture your day in detail, a simple meal at the bar would be suffice for the both of us to to recharge.
Do you take group photos?
Yes totally! We try to keep these to a small amount though, the focus is on natural non-posing photos, we will be capturing you and your guests naturally all day, these are the best photos.
How many photographs will we receive?
On a Full Day Package lots, with two photographers capturing your day you will typically receive a minimum of 600, but on average it’s usually a lot more.
How long before we receive our photographs?
Normally your photo's will be edited and ready 8-12 weeks after your wedding, however sometimes this can be longer during the busy season. (May -Sept).
How do we access our photographs?
Online private Gallery, Downloadable with access to print options Via Pic Time.
Do you charge for travel?
Travel within Northern Ireland is included in price. However if your wedding is in ROI or mainland UK I may charge for travel. These costs will be confirmed at the wedding consultation. I try my best to keep these costs to a minimum.
Who will be photographing our wedding?
Myself and Matt will photograph your wedding, should Matt be unavailable I have other assistants through the PPANI at the ready to photograph your wedding. For some reason If I cannot photograph your wedding I am part of the prestige PPANI group who are availabe to step in at short notice to step in and cover your day.
How can we pay you?
Bank transfer, Revolut or good old solid cash.
